Get away from her you...thing!

We may have let out a little chuckle when we first saw a glimpse of the Predalien at the end of 2004's Alien vs. Predator but most Alien or indeed Predator fans were secretly thinking "oh cool!". Now a few years later, the Predalien is all grown up and ready to reek havoc in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, due for release in the UK on January 18th 2008.

This is what you get when you let a facehugger attach itself to a Predator

Speaking to USA Today, Colin and Greg Strause gave us hope for this title by declaring that they aim to go back to the franchise routes. Referring to the classic Alien, Colin states "That movie was dark. That movie used a lot of rain. And that movie was scary. We want it more like the classic early Alien and Predator movies we grew up on". Those worried about this being a CGI showcase and nothing more should also take note that according to Greg Strause "You're not going to see 50 digital creatures running around, we want to bring the franchise back to basics".

Keep it up guys, you sure know what to say to get us fans intrigued. Whilst Alien vs. Predator was a decent enough teen action flick, it wasn't the adult terror inducer that we'd hoped for. Dare I say it, having seen the trailers for the sequel, I'm now finding myself looking forward to it. Aliens, Predators, Humans and a Predalien to boot, what's not to get excited about?

Saw the HD trailer of this and it looks vastly superior to AvP.
Yes, and bird flu is vastly superior to the ebola virus but that doesn't mean you should try and catch it.

I am just hoping that some brilliant new, young Ridley Scott or James Cameron is somewhere thinking “Everything after Aliens was a mistake, I want to make a film that either continues the story of those characters or is just set in a universe where nothing those sucky films dreamt up ever happened. Oh, and I wonder if anyone else has actually seen Predator recently and realised, like me, just how awful it was and how pathetic an enemy the Predator was (killed by a log for crying out loud).”

Predalien … it almost looks as bad as that walking dog turd at the end of Resurrection.
what i want to know is whether it will be able to cloak and sneek up on people, and then vomit plasma balls like the predator gun does and melt them, although that last bit would ruin it completely for being to unrealistic,

anyway, cloaked aliens…
and would they have green acid blood?
Whatever happened to Alien 5?
WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW…..as soon as this comes out my ass is down the cinema!

I thought I caught an extremely short glimpse of a pred-alien in the trailer, but this is the first confirmed report that I have personally read about them being in the film.

I also like the fact that they are cutting the CGI down. It's used far too much in modern films. I understand that some “need” it to pull the film off successfully, but for something like this, cutting it down should be better. Don't get me wrong though, I love CGI and find it extremely fascinating (if a film is crap but the CGI is astounding it will actually buy it just to appreciate the CGI) , but if something can be pulled off without using it then use that other method.

As for Alien 5, there was talk of it and a Predator 3 happening after they had done a bit of AVP; don't know where that is going now though.
