Your home theatre is good, this is better...

If you're a Trekkie, few things would bring more delight than a home theatre modelled upon the Starship Enterprise NCC1701-D from Star Trek The Next Generation.

Located in Palm Beach County, Florida, an anonymous owner spent six months creating a theatre, bar and ready room that are simply breathtaking. Featuring motion-activated air-lock doors with the customary Next Generation sound effects and a Red Alert button that will turn all of the LEDs bright red and flashing, it seems the only missing features are a transporter and a holodeck.

The theatre features "one of the largest Kaleidescape hard-drive based storage systems", consisting of eight servers with 3,816 DVDs (the entire Star Trek collection we're sure), and an equipment list that would make even The Borg look like old technology. Take a moment to marvel at the breathtaking pictures below.

Wow very impressive selection of equipment.:)
Thanks for pointing out the list chrisg, that is seriously impressive. I've added a link to the equipment in the article. :)

I can't get over the design of it all, it even has a ready room! :surprised: I wonder if you can get Romulan Ale at the bar? There has got to be Earl Grey too.
How long before you see that on MTV Cribs :P
this, is what happens when trekkers get to be a designer….
That equipment list is something else!

The room is very impressive, but really, how good is it as a home cinema?

Real cinemas are dark and furnished with dark colours for a reason ;)
