Rumours of a Jackson 5 reunion have been strife for many years. Today those rumours appear to have come true as Jermaine Jackson confirmed to BBC 6 Music that "We feel we have to do it one more time. We owe that to the fans and to the public".
As if often the case with the Jacksons, focus soon turned to brother Michael and Jermaine adamantly stated that "He was at the meetings. Michael will be involved".
The brothers, Tito, Marlon, Jackie, Jermaine and Michael who last toured together in 1984 are also recording new material with Jermaine claiming the band to be "in the studio at the moment".
Though the Jackson family has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons over the past decade or two, the news of a Jackson Five tour comes to the delight of many Jackson fans. Having seen the brothers reunite briefly myself at a special concert held in New York City in 2001, I'll look forward to the prospect of them going on tour in the UK.
The question remains however, with Michael's history in the media, can the brothers ever entertain the masses as they once did before?
