Toy Story 1, 2 and 3 in 3D

When I first laid eyes on Pixar's truly memorable Toy Story in 1995, I was mesmerised by the animation.

Aiming to achieve that effect once again, the studio's forthcoming Toy Story 3, scheduled for release on June 18th 2010 will be a completely 3D experience, known as Disney Digital 3D.

That's not all either, to prepare for the 3D release of Toy Story 2, Pixar is going all out and will be re-releasing Toy Story on October 2nd 2009 and Toy Story 2 on February 12th 2010, both are being given a 3D makeover.

John Lasseter, director of the first two movies and supervisor of the 3D makeover says:

"The 'Toy Story' films and characters will always hold a very special place in our hearts and we're so excited to be bringing this landmark film back for audiences to enjoy in a whole new way thanks to the latest in 3-D technology. I am sure that this is going to be nothing short of fantastic and people are going to be blown away by the experience. With 'Toy Story 3' shaping up to be another great adventure for Buzz, Woody and the gang from Andy's room, we thought it would be great to let audiences experience the first two films all over again and in a brand new way. 3-D offers lots of great new possibilities for the art of animation and we will continue to use this new technology to tell our stories in the best possible way"

I'm a huge fan of Toy Story, and though I tend not to like already great movies being given makeovers, I'm quite looking forward to seeing Woody, Buzz and co. in full 3D. What's that saying again? Oh yes, to infinity, and beyond!

but when will we see them on Blu-ray??
My guess would just before the 3D versions come out, cause that way they can release them again a short while after in “super special 3d editions” and double their profits! Whoo hoo!

Then there'll be the “ultimate trilogy” edition when all three are out… :surrender:

Still, can't wait to see 'em in 3D though. Mr Potato Head is gonna be all kinds of cool in 3D. :)
These will be great to see again on the big screen 3D or not :)
