If you're thinking about filling up your car today, why not take a moment to find exactly where you can fill up for the lowest possible price?

Online website, petrolprices.com, owned and operated by Fubra Limited, can help you locate the cheapest petrol station within your area.

Having used the website to search my local area, I've found that a station just under 10 miles away is 5p a litre cheaper than my local station. 5p a litre may not sound like much, but if I were to use the cheaper station, I'd save £2.50 each time I refuel.

If I were to refuel once a week, that's a saving of £130 each year. Granted, I'd have to travel a little further to get to the cheaper station, eliminating most of the saving, but it doesn't do any harm to know where exactly the cheapest stations are.

Going that one step further, petrolprices.com will also display a map showing you where the stations are located and you can also subscribe to free e-mail alerts, keeping you up to date with price changes in your area.

Petrolprices.com currently provides prices from 9,763 petrol stations and pushes 8,000 daily updates. There is one slight downside, you do have to register with the website in order to search and once registered, you're limited to 20 searches per week. Still, I've found the website to be very useful and I'd encourage users to register for themselves.

Good site… but living over the road from a Tesco means that it's usually the cheapest anyway.

Could come in handy for one of my many trips around the country though!
This is not exactly what one might call news, as I've been receiving emails from this website for at least 2 years…

Indeed - see this news story from (just) over 2 years ago…

In other news, Hitler declares intent to build united Europe, kill all Jews.
My father drives 5 miles to get his petrol cheaper. For the sake of saving a couple of pence here and there I don't see the point.
