iPhone getting double the memory

More movement on the iPhone front today. Having updated tarrifs to make the iPhone appear more appealing just last week, sources at O2 now suggest that a 16GB model of the iPhone is imminent. It could indeed be launched today at 1:30pm and is said to be priced at £329, £60 more than the current 8GB model.

It doesn't come as too much of a surprise. With the introduction of the 16GB iPod Touch a short while back, a 16GB version of the iPhone was always on the cards.

UK mobile users, who've yet to truly take a liking to Apple's iPhone, will be hopeful that the introduction of a newer model leads to a price cut on the older handset sooner rather than later.

More memory capacity is always nice, but most of us will still be waiting for the iPhone to get 3G capabilities.

We'll be keeping an eye on the O2 website later this afternoon to see if the 16GB iPhone does land and if it brings any other changes in addition to increased memory.

Nooo,

I only got mine on Friday last week… saying that I really wouldnt use it for the extra storage anyway
I don't know about O2 but with Orange you get a 7 day return policy with any handset. Just in case!
Parm,

You usually do get a 14 day return policy on o2 however its slightly different with the Iphone.

As the Iphone is activated over Itunes the only way to get a refund is if the credit check is failed - even then the phone has to be returned to the store within 7 days of purchase with proof of the the failed credit check.
Sheesh, they're really tight with this handset. :surprised:
