Writers Kieran and Michele Mulroney now finalising Justice League script

When Justice League of America was put on hold indefinitely due to the writers strike, many thanked their lucky stars. Somehow, the idea of so many superheros on screen at once in some form of teen-action-flick just doesn't appeal.

Unfortunately for those against the movie, the writers strike is now over and Warner Bros. is putting the movie back on track and has a 2009 release in store.

Writers Kieran and Michele Mulroney are expected to finalise the script in a matter of weeks. Meanwhile, director George Miller is preparing for pre-production in Australia and the rumoured cast had been told to continue training for their roles.

The cast as it turns out, is what most superhero fans are complaining about. Rather than older adults playing the roles, the movie looks set to utilise the following young stars:

  • Adam Brody as The Flash
  • Common as Green Lantern
  • Armie Hammer Jr. as Batman
  • Megan Gale as Wonder Woman

Though an actor hasn't yet been confirmed for the role of Superman, 28 year old D.J. Cotrona has been rumoured to fill the red boots. Brandon Routh, despite his excellent portrayal of the Man of Steel in Superman Returns, doesn't look as though he'll be getting a chance to appear in Justice League.

So, dear readers, how do you feel about 2009's Justice League? With so many wonderful characters, do you believe this mash-up of superheros can deliver a memorable movie? Or, like me, do you fear that Justice League will turn out to be a mildly-fun teen action film similar to Fantastic Four? Share your thoughts in the HEXUS forums.

Not connected to this one I guess?
If they do it - they should try and tie in with the Superman & Batman films… and you can't have the JLA without those two…
Not connected to that one David, as Wikipedia says, that was “a 1997 unsuccessful TV-pilot produced by CBS”

It would be good if Justice League tied in with the Superman and Batman films, but I can't see it happening. There is too much going on in each superhero's story for them to encompass so much in one movie.

I fear this one is going to be bad, real bad… :O_o1:
