Camcorder prices have continued to tumble during Q1 2008, to the extent where a palm-sized high-definition (720p) model from a big-name manufacturer is available for around £250, and full-HD (1080p) 3CCD models from £350.

AIPTEK is jumping on the HD bandwagon with the release of its Z300 HD-V, capable of shooting at 1,280x720 resolution at 30fps.

Supporting an SD-card slot, up to 16 hours of video can be recorded on a 32GiB SDHC card. The camcorder, measuring 113 x 70 x 33mm, features 3x optical zoom, an 8MP still camera, and a 2.4in TFT, too.

Shipping with an SRP of £199.99 this week, we expect to see it available for around £175 at leading e-tailers.

The price of high-definition recording keeps on fallin'.

I used to work for a company which sold some Aiptek products. All I can say is you get what you pay for with them.
