It has been raining watches as of late, but just in case Pszeniczny's Formula 1 watch or Oregon Scientific's Meteo weren't for you, here's another one.

Thumps Up, creator of wacky gadgets such as the T-Sketch t-shirt, has announced its latest creation, and this time, it could be useful.

Say hello to the Wi-Fi Detecting Watch. You'll never guess what it does.

Yep, you got it. This little wrist-bound gadget detects Wi-Fi hotspots for those of us who begin to twitch when Internet access isn't nearby.

Though the watch is far from the best looking, the 'WiFi' button located on the front will reveal the strength of local Wi-Fi connections. Watch functionality isn't lost either, the Wi-Fi Detecting Watch provides an alarm, countdown timer, world time zone mode and calendar.

Its key features, as described by Thumbs Up, are as follows:

  • Watch Features: Chronograph, Countdown, Alarm, Hourly Chime, Dual Time, Lap Memory
  • Wi-Fi Detection
  • Detects interference intensity of 2.4GHz signal
  • Detects AP stations over 100 metres outdoors
  • Anti-static and Shock Proof
  • 100 Metres Water-Resistant

The watch would normally be available for Ā£19.99, but it's currently out of stock. Nuts, you might just have to settle for Thumbs Up's Wi-Fi Detecting T-Shirt.
