Access to the web and e-mail whilst on the go is becoming all the more essential, and Vodafone has today revised its payment plans to further highlight the fact.

The UK mobile operator said today that unlimited access to the internet will be automatically bundled with its monthly payment plans, starting from £25.

Prior to this announcement, Vodafone customers opting for unlimited internet access were subject to a £7.50 add-on fee. It should be noted however that 'unlimited' access isn't entirely accurate, Vodafone enforces a 500MB fair usage policy.

Ian Shepherd of Vodafone UK, said:

"Today with our new price plans Vodafone customers have the confidence to browse for as long as they need with no extra costs when checking their e-mail, visiting their favourite social networking sites or making a final bid on eBay."

If I wasn't in the midst of an 18-month contract with Orange, I'd be tempted to sign up with Vodafone.

Fingers crossed t-mobile follows suit! My MDA Vario 3 is very internet friendly and i pay the £7.50 a month charge for the intenet. Would be nice to see it free of charge! :)
Looking at the vodaphone website, am I right in thinking this is just on selected new price plans? If so then yes, you don't pay £7.50 as an “extra” but at the cheaper end (£25-£35) you get a pretty poor deal in terms of texts and minutes. I'd be more impressed if they offered it on their existing price plans - or even better to their existing customers :)
