A-DATA, the world's second largest vendor of memory modules, has today launched its Turbo Series CF 350X memory card - aimed specifically at professional photographers.

The CompactFlash card, pictured below, is available in 8GiB and 16GiB models and provides a maximum read speed of 52Mbps and a maximum write speed of 47Mbps. It'll support dual-channel data transferring and UDMA 0-5 mode as well as MDMA 0-4 mode.

A-DATA states that its CF 350X allows users to "enjoy the pleasant feeling of non-stop shooting and continuous filming". The world's fastest CF card, however, is sure to come at a cost and pricing is yet to be announced.

Its key features and specification are detailed by A-DATA as follows:

Any idea if this can be used as a fixed disk? Or will Windows only recognise it as a removable disk?

Could make a nice compact alternative to SSDs :)Quote

You can get CF to IDe or CF to SATA adaptors. Might be a good project, depends on the price of course.Quote

Physical adapters are pretty easy to come by, however Windows still sees the majority of CF cards (especially SanDisk) as removable drives and you cannot install or run windows from them.

A-Data have an industrial line that announce themselfs as fixed disks, would be good if these did that same :)

Yo udo get adapters that will take any CF card and hide the mode from the OS, these are a lot more expensive though.Quote
