If you've wasted no time in upgrading to iTunes version 7.7, you'll find that Apple has wasted no time in launching its sparkling new App Store.

The store, accessible now via iTunes 7.7, offers around 500 applications for users to download. Apple states that approximately 25 per cent of the applications are completely free of charge, and the majority of chargeable applications retail at less than $9.99.

There's a huge variety of applications on offer, and one of the freebies is Apple Remote, an app that'll turn your iPhone or iPod touch into a remote control for Apple TV. Handy.

Early reports indicate that the App Store interface on Apple's iPhone is as user-friendly as it gets. If you're itching to try it out for yourself, you'll need to wait for Apple to launch v2.0 of the iPhone operating system, that'll probably coincide with the iPhone 3G launch tomorrow.

Have you taken a look at the Apple App Store? If so, share your thoughts and first impressions in the HEXUS.community forums. We'd love to know which apps you've found to be useful.
