If you're one of the six seven HEXUS.community members who have Sky HD, you'll be happy to hear that the satellite broadcaster has upped its HD channel count to 19 with the introduction of Eurosport HD.

The relatively new HD channel is now available to Sky HD customers on channel number 412 and adds to the high-definition sports coverage already available on Sky Sports HD. Next month, Eurosport HD will showcase the 2008 Beijing Olympics in high definition alongside the BBC.

Eurosport HD originally began to broadcast on May 25th, and at the same time Eurosport's standard definition services moved from 4:3 to 16:9 widescreen. Though carriage of Eurosport HD had been secured on various European platforms last month, the channel finally made its way to Sky earlier today.

Seven………… ehem, I missed that poll, had it for nearly two years now.
There must be more than seven of us, surely

I'm just hopeful it has better picture quality than BBC HD, so I can watch the Olympics on Eurosport instead.

Another HD channel is always good, though I can't say I'm too excited about ‘Real Life HD’ or whatever it is that's being advertised as ‘Coming Soon’. Sounds like something the missus would get teary watching
bbc hd has pretty much the best image quality of any hd channel in the world. so… sorry
Heh, I find myself amongst the privileged few with SkyHD.

Did have a quick flick over to Eurosport only to find the content in 4:3 :(

What makes you say that? I seem to recall you talking about the techie side of it before? :)

To me it's far from consistently best on Sky, let alone in the world.

When it was a trial, it had fantastic PQ. Since the trial ended… not so much. It's very hit and miss now, at least with my equipment. Some things are pretty impressive, others seem very poor. What's on now (bonekickers) has awful PQ. I'm not sure if the grain is as the director intended, but the picture noise certainly shouldn't be there. Many other shows leave much to be desired too.
