It just wouldn't be IFA without a new range of speakers from Creative, and the audio-specialist provided a trio of tasty-looking solutions for the home PC.

First up, the all-new GigaWorks T3, a compact 2.1 solution "designed to deliver the ultimate music listening experience."

At first glance, these tiny speakers might not look unforgiving, but they're hooked up to a SLAM (Symmetrically Loaded Acoustic Module) subwoofer which utilises three 6.5in drivers to provide an ample amount of oomph.

That handy little desktop-dial is the bundled wired remote, it features a low-friction precision volume dial which doubles as a power/standby switch, and a convenient aux-in and headphone socket.

The rear of the subwoofer features the main line-in input for connecting to your PC, and a bass-compensation adjustment knob. Creative is marketing this one as eco-friendly, too, if the mains socket is out of reach, hit the standby switch and it'll reduce power consumption.

Creative's GigaWorks T3 will land in Europe later this month at a cost of €199, but for those who prefer to go without the clutter of a 2.1 solution, Creative will also be revamping its highly-regarded GigaWorks T20 and GigaWorks T40.

The duo, pictured below (T20 left, T40 right), will be given a makeover and launched as "Series II" products. Both are said to feature "refined acoustic capabilities", and now offer two inputs for connection to multiple sources.

The GigaWorks T40 and T20 Series II will arrive in October priced at €129 and €99, respectively.

Re: News - Creative updates compact GigaWorks range
The INQ had news about that Fujitsu monitor that drew zero watt in standby, now Creative
does the same thing for speakers, well - if that comes at no cost to audio quality then I am all for it...

The eremite design suits me, but they might look too modest for people who prefer excess styling.Quote
