We're big fans of PURE's first "connected" radio, the EVOKE Flow. So much so, that we recently gave it our Editor's Choice award and branded it as "the radio that does it all".

Well, now there's a successor that does it all - and more - and it's called the AVANTI Flow.

The AVANTI Flow takes all of EVOKE Flow's impressive connectivity features - that's FM, DAB and Internet radio, as well as media streaming - and adds an iPod dock and improved audio output.

Sitting inside the device is a pair of 3in mid-range drivers that utilise PURE's Clearsound technology, and a 5.25in downward-firing subwoofer. The result, says PURE, is an "enhanced hi-fi quality audio subsystem".

The glossy-back unit supports a wide array of iPod media players, and there's a useful bundled remote control, too. It has all the ingredients of a top-end radio and will be in stores pre-Christmas at a hefty cost of Ā£279.99. That's almost double the cost of the EVOKE Flow, but the superior acoustics and iPod integration could be enough to convince some buyers.
