Handset manufacturer HTC launched it latest smartphone,
the
Hero, last week. Chock-full of features and powered by a
combination of ARM hardware and Google's Android operating system, it
will be available in mid-July from Orange and O2.
Orange will be providing the Hero 'free of charge' but on
£39.15 per month contract that lasts two years. However, if
you don't want to be tied down to a provider and would prefer a
SIM-free Hero,
Expansys
is listing the handset for £399.99, including VAT, along with
£30 worth of vouchers.
£400 seems steep
but the pricing is in line with the various iPhone incarnations and cheaper than a Nokia N97. Would
you consider one? Let us know in the forums.

Hence my noting its lack of ActiveSync. My point was that any WinMo handset is *also* a bargain and *has* got ActiveSync ("...the notable difference that the WinMo solution'll be more functional than either...") - italics added for clarity.
i personally don't give a **** about activSyn and neither some people. So besides activeSync and IMAP what else you wanna bash this phone on?Quote

Stating that if it had ActiveSync I'd probably be raiding my piggy bank for it is hardly bashing it, now, is it? It's a phone. It simply lacks functionality that to me and anyone else using Exchange is kind of the sine qua non for a smartphone.Quote
