Jonathan Cole, CEO of popXpress commented: “We are thrilled to be opening this store concept at such an exciting time in the iPod's development. The iPod has created a new market for consumer mobile music players and has resulted in an array of accessories. We have been planning the rollout for over a year and our plan is to have a second London West End store open before Christmas and twelve more stores nationwide by the end of 2006.”

Cole continues: “The three-storey ‘geek boutique’ on Liverpool Street has been styled by popXpress to create the very best iPod and iPod accessory purchasing environment. With minimalist design, each store will carry Apple’s full iPod range, accessories and a vast array of third party products. popXpress has also commissioned a large range of luxury items that include gold and silver plated nano’s and lanyards, exclusive to popXpress.”

What the hell? Thats ludicrous. As if apple stores werent sparse and trying to be minimalist enough.

God i hate ipods, well, not them specifically, but the whole, ipd =mp3 player culture people have created, i really do get sick of saying “Its not a sodding ipod you dumb ass, i havent charged it for 4 days and it still works! And it doesnt have the stupid shiny back and isnt made out of tacky white plastic!”!!!!!!!"*

*May or may not actually have been said to people.

To be fair my zen is, been dropped onto concrete from waist height 5 or 6 times, mate did that once with his ipod and it bust.
ROFL. Ipod is too fragile IMO. But it's the trend and everything :D. I like the Itunes store though.
