QuietPC is receiving stock of the attractive Antec P180 case, along with a new iMON package. QuietPC has been providing us with tools and products, sourced from various manufacturers, for a while now, and as more people lust for PCs in the living room, the need for a quiet computer grows. So what do the new additions to QuietPC's stock mean for us lifestyle junkies?

Antec P180

Let's start with Antec's P180 case. It may be a bit of a big blighter if you're building a MCPC but, for other applications requiring quiet operation, it could be well suited. The case features two chambers that introduce cooling zones and case panels designed to reduce sound. The cooling zones allow for quieter, more effective cooling and of course further noise is reduced thanks to the panel design, so even if you just want to shut your system up a bit, this case can help.

QuietPC has stock of the black SPCR edition, exclusively in the UK... sexeh!

iMON is an interesting product geared towards replacing Windows Media Center. A full iMON kit conists of a remote control, front panel display and Inter-Median software. This combination allows you to turn a PC into a imedia center. What's significant about the new iMON variant is that it is supplied with a 2.4GHz RF remote control rather than an IR model. This allows for two possibilities. The first is controlling the PC from afar (well, within reason) and the second is hiding the PC away, if it happens to be an ugly git of a rig. Infra-red is so 1990s...

Prices for iMON kits start at £54 with stock of the new models due in the next couple of weeks. Antec's P180 weighs in at £99 and is in stock now.
