Just when we think everything has been modded in every possible way, somebody comes along and surprises us. This time a mod-happy guy by the name of JavaMoose has decided to slap an iPod into an old Geiger Counter.

The main unit, with a new lick of paint, houses the iPod, and the remote has been fitted into the detection probe of the counter.

The project has been documented photographically on Flickr (it probably has some trendy name now, like Photoblogging.) JavaMoose is no stranger to such mods, with a number of previous creations, including a MAME arcade controller. Hat's off to the guy for ingenuity, but perhaps he needs to take up an activity like Badminton... something to use up the spare time.
