Sony is launching a 4GB version of its Memory Stick PRO Duo and now bundling an adaptor free with all Memory Stick PRO Duo and Duo models.

The 4GB model is due this summer and expected to retail for around  €170 (£118). The supplied adaptor lets you use the card in standard-size Memory Stick slots.

Why opt for Duo-family cards? Well, according to Sony, they're one-third the size and half the weight of standard-size Memory Sticks. But, of course, if you need an adaptor to use them, some of that advantage is clearly lost.

Is that your response to the new 4GB size or the free adaptor (or both)?
heehee. the 4gig card size :)

This should help drive down the cost of the sanDisk ones. You can get them on eBay for about £100 apparently (i'm not going to get into the fake/genuine debate though).

the adapter isn't anything new, i have three from my current Duo cards. I just hope the new M2 cards don't make their way into too many Sony devices or Sonyericsson phones.
Beware lots of these on eBay are fakes!

They are mostly all fake!

Here is how to spot the memory stick duo fakes!

Yeah, the thread is a year and a half old, you could have done all that is a single post, so nice way to add to your post count ;)

Your other posts aren't exactly helpful either.

I don't use eBay at all these days, especially for memory cards, back in 2006 this wasn't so much of a problem. Now I wouldn't trust the place unless it was the only option (and it never really is)
