London, England – Philips has refreshed its range of webcams with the introduction of eight new models that maximise the potential of online chatting and interactive gaming, with easy to use support for MSN, Skype and other free messaging services.

Slotting below the SPC900NC, which remains the flagship webcam in the range are the SPC715NC and SPC710NC. Featuring a stable-mount design for secure on-screen or desktop mounting, the cameras are available with a built-in digital microphone (SPC710NC) or with a complete multimedia headset (SPC715NC) for echo-free chatting.

In all other aspects the two offer identical high-end specification delivering top-quality voice and video functionality.

Smooth video quality is assured with the camera rendering moving images at a slick 30 frames per second, while the SVGA resolution produces razor-sharp still snapshots.

Like the flagship SPC900NC both offer Automatic Face Tracking, which locks the camera onto your face during video conferencing, giving you the freedom to move around while remaining the focus right in the centre of the picture.

Conveniently the webcams feature a rotating lens ensuring you achieve the correct angle quickly without needing to change the tilt. Furthermore the 5x digital zoom, which renders detailed close-ups, can also be adjusted on screen providing precision control during operation. Stills are also taken with just one press of the Snapshot button.

For crisp and clear video and still image quality, the camera lens is coated with a with a special film (Precision Glass Optics) that further extends the working life of the camera and protects from possible damage and dust accumulation.

The SPC710NC and SPC715NC are also equipped with Philips VLounge Premium software, allowing you to create and send VMails in seconds, while also providing slick control for capturing, managing and archiving video and still shots. For added convenience the VLounge QuickLaunch button provides one-touch activation of the suite.

Blessed with a unique design within the range, the SPC650NC perches on a sturdy base for secure mounting when in use; when detached, the base doubles up as an easy-to-reach USB port which can even be used to charge certain USB devices.

The camera features a built-in microphone and also is delivers SVGA resolution images and 30 fps video while featuring the rotating lens, Snapshot and precision glass optics. In addition the VLounge software is activated easily with just one press using QuickLaunch.

Boasting a sleek gloss-black finish, the SPC500NC and SPC505NC utilise the stable-mount design to guarantee secure placement on any monitor or surface.

Almost identically specified, with the exception of the built-in microphone for the SPC500NC while the SPC505NC is equipped with high-quality multimedia headset, both sets are the only models in the new Philips line to boast a 360-degree rotating camera head that captures every movement, image and piece of the action.

In addition, Automatic Picture Optimiser adjusts camera and image settings according to the ambient light levels in the room, providing optimum picture quality and preventing over-exposure and wash-out.

Video is captured at 30 fps with stills delivered in SVGA resolution while the camera also offers rotating lens and Snapshot functionality. A basic version of the VLounge software is also supplied and can be quickly and easily activated via the QuickLaunch button.

Three-entry level stable-mount cams offer the perfect introduction to video chatting. The SPC315NC, SPC 215NC and SPC210NC all capture 30 fps video and grab VGA resolution snapshots and feature Automatic Picture Optimiser and rotating lens functions.

The SPC315NC and SPC215NC provide razor-sharp audio delivered via the respectively supplied headset and headphones, while the SPC210NC uses a standalone external microphone for recording flexibility.

The basic version of VLounge software is also bundled with the SPC315NC which also features QuickLaunch.
