The bad news

Siemens' hand-over last year of its loss-making mobile phone division to BenQ - the Taiwanese company was paid €350 million to take it over! -  looks to have turned to rat's shit. On Thursday (September 28) BenQ announced that it would no longer fund "unsustainable" losses at the German company - now called BenQ Mobile and selling phones under the BenQ-Siemens brand - and that the subsidiary was considering filing for insolvency protection, which it promptly did.

So, if you've got the hots for any of the company's tasty new phones, such as the M81, best check out some other brands.

:-(
