Elonex Ltd has gone into administration, just three months after it was formed from the ashes of Elonex Plc by Staffs-based stationer Afic.
Administrators from Vantis were called into Elonex Ltd yesterday. Afic had bought the services and warranty business of Elonex Plc in July, after the Northwest London-based PC vendor slipped into administration.
Yuval Ella, managing director of Afic, said he had been disappointed with the company he bought.
"In general, I've invested a lot of money in this," said Ella. "I'm greatly disappointed that what I was sold was not what was there."
Ella said he had not received the support he had expected from Elonex France, a sister firm of the old Elonex. He had also counted on, but not received, the support of key former staff, he said.
He would not say how much money he had spent on Elonex, but said it had gone on maintaining the running costs of the firm's fleet of warranty engineers. Customers had complained of being told by Elonex that it would not honour the warranties of customers. However, Ella said the cost of running the firm had been in providing its services.
Neither of the joint administrators, Geoff Rowley or Simon Glyn, were available to comment.®
