Nokia is unveiling at CES its latest-generation widescreen multimedia mobile phone. The N800 Internet Tablet is said to build on the success of the 770 Internet Tablet by offering faster performance, a full-screen finger-activated qwerty keyboard and easier continuous connections through Wi-Fi or via Bluetooth phone, plus an integrated web camera and a new design.

The N800 is due very shortly - Nokia says immediately, but we can't see it anywhere at the moment - and is set to sell for a pre-tax price of €399 in Europe and US$399 in the States.

At the show, Nokia will demonstrate some of the features of the N800 that it reckons will captivate users. These are said to include enhanced internet navigation, courtesy of Navicore software; calling and messaging using a number of different popular services (Skype is promised soon); and using RealNetworks' Rhapsody music service.
