New range combines class leading attributes with unbelievably low prices10 April 07 - Computer Supermarket is set to challenge the dominance of Apple’s iPod with the arrival of its latest MP4 player range. The groundbreaking new MP4 players have a similar look and feel to a Nano, but that’s where the similarity ends. The first shock is the price, retailing at just £49 for the 4GB model as opposed to £129 for Apple’s offering.
Sceptics might expect inferior functionality but not a bit of it; the new MP4s match the Nano on attributes but add a built-in FM Radio allowing the user to record direct from the radio for play back later. Fifty separate channels can be preset, consigning car insurance and stair lift ads to history.
But beyond the price, the MP4’s trump card is its ability to download TV shows, MTV music videos and movies on its 1.8” LCD screen. Why just listen to your favourite artists when you watch them as well?
“Not only is the MP4 range a lot of fun, but it’s highly practical,” says Computer Supermarket’s Ian Bird. Along with all your videos and music you can now store files in exactly the same way as you’d use a flash drive. It also doubles as a Dictaphone and comes preloaded with inbuilt voice recorder functionality, meaning if you fall asleep in a lecture you won’t miss a thing…”
