Want iPhone?, get O2.

It seems as if O2 has triumphed in the battle to be the sole UK distributor of the much-hyped iPhone from Apple, which shipped 500,000 units in the first weekend of release alone.

O2 is acutely aware that product differentation and image are two driving factors in a market that's already heavily saturated.

Expect to pay around Ā£300 for the privilege of of owning Apple's must-have mobile. We guess Vodafone won't be happy.

£300?! Is it made out of gold or something?
No, it's made by Apple, apparently a far more prestigious status than any normal commodity.
not that I want one, but the trouble with being O2 is I can't get a signal where I am (in the middle of nowhere). I'm stuck with either Orange or 3 (and 3 have only recently started getting a signal thanks to an agreement with orange to bounce of their masts) 3 is a bit hit and miss too, my phone has had a great signal for the past few months however my neighbour was lucky if she got a signal at all and had no end of dropped calls (although I think this may have been more to do with her phone than anything else).

thats new. 3 used to use O2 as their fall back. Perhaps they still do, but now also use Orange in some areas.
